International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
About

After completing my B.A. at Bard College with a focus on maternity in literature, I was inspired to train as a doula, which brought me to Los Angeles from upstate New York. I had looked extensively at motherhood through an analytical lens and was moved to work with birthing families. It was as a birth and postpartum doula that I discovered my passion for supporting mothers on their lactation journeys.
While mothers face many challenges in caring for a new baby, breastfeeding can be particularly complicated. After several years of practice and observation, I enrolled in University of California San Diego’s lactation consultation program and earned my IBCLC certification in 2011. My approach is rooted in empathy and patience and is informed by years of doula work. Carefully considering each mother's unique situation and needs, I tailor my support to provide the most effective guidance. Whether helping a first-time mother navigate initial challenges or offering new strategies to experienced mothers facing unexpected hurdles, my personalized care has been transformative for many families.
